In the new fashion district hub of Milan, where old and new compete for the stylistic direction of the urban landscape, the imposing Axa Assicurazioni building stands directly opposite Garibaldi Station. The design challenge was from the outset aimed at achieving three objectives: enhancing the property through the building's potential, establishing the building in a developing area whilst contextualising it within its environment, and expressing a focused attention on environmental and energy-saving themes. Omnitex has been supporting Axa Assicurazioni in consultancy for the supply of products and systems in the field of technical internal solar protection blinds since 2008. For the new Milan HQ, the choice of Verosol Silverscreen fabric proved fundamental for the proper management of heat and natural light, and for enabling the internal shading of the striking glazed dome that characterises the building.
